DAVIS COUNTY, Calif. – A vaccination clinic is coming to Sacramento’s downtown sports arena. The CANDIDs-19 event is happening Friday afternoon and it will feature special vaccination opportunities for kids ages 18 months to 12 years old.

“I am very passionate about bringing folks together in this setting to make an impact on their health,” said Janet Majors.

The Sacramento Children’s Society (SCS) will offer the flu, pertussis, hepatitis B, diphtheria and tetanus vaccine on behalf of the California Department of Public Health’s Immunization Advisory Committee. Also being offered will be Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR), chicken pox and polio vaccines.

“It’s the largest mass vaccination event held at an arena in the state of California,” said Kristen Amundson, Sierra County Environmental Health supervisor.

The clinic is free to anybody who wants to take advantage of it. If you’re not available to take advantage of the vaccination clinic, but you’d like to help support the CANDIDs-19 health event, you can make a donation. In return, the organizers are giving you the chance to win prizes. There are numerous ways to donate to the event and keep those good feelings.

“When folks are aware of the availability and even when they’re vaccinated and they’re vaccinated for prevention purposes and if they can be vaccinated again because of complications they had when they got vaccinated, the more we can keep those good outcomes for kids and those families,” said Amundson.
