Two men were killed and two more were injured on Sunday in a shooting at a bar in Toronto’s entertainment district, police said.

About 200 people were at the Deacon’s Pub, a longtime hangout for queer-rights advocates, when two men carrying firearms showed up shortly before midnight, and started shooting. Police confirmed Monday that 25-year-old Joshua Yasay was killed in the attack. Another man died at a nearby hospital.

Ricardo Guzman, 28, died at the hospital, as well. The two others remain hospitalized, as police continue to investigate.

“Tonight there has been two fatalities and a number of others who have been injured,” Toronto Mayor John Tory said. “This will no doubt be a traumatic evening for many people. I think it should be understood that the city police and all of the organizations who are here on the scene … are focused on making sure this case is taken very seriously.”

Police said they were seeking two suspects who had fled the scene.
